JetOptions empty legs and one way private jet charter listings

Friday, May 3rd, 2013

Here is a sample of our empty legs listings. Empty legs are not scheduled flights. All times and locations are negotiable.

An empty leg is when an aircraft operator needs to be moved without any passengers. Sometimes the crew is positioning from their base to a point where passengers will be picked up for a booked trip. Keep in mind that these flights exist because someone else has already chartered a flight. This means you are more than likely going to be flying under the of the original customer’s flight. You may be unable to depart at your preferred times and will have to be flexible with the departure or arrival airport. Flexibility on dates, times, origin and destination will always give you more options.

Contact JetOptions directly to determine if your travel requirements fit within our charter aircraft’s availability. Contact Gus Lira at 972-764-3563 or email me at charter@FlyJetOptions.com and I will be happy to give you more information regarding empty legs rates and one way charter prices.

Bad week to fly through O’Hare; cancellations near 2,000

Thursday, April 18th, 2013

A USA Today story from Ben Mutzabaugh:

Bad week to fly through O’Hare; cancellations near 2,000

More than 1,400 hundred flights have been canceled since Wednesday at Chicago O’Hare, which has been hammered by a persistently stormy weather pattern.

Go back to Tuesday — when a computer outage at American Airlines snarled its operations — and more than 1,960 flights have been canceled during that period.

Today alone, flight-tracking service FlightStats counts 495 cancellations at the Midwest hub as of 9:30 a.m. ET this morning (April 18). And with Chicago’s poor weather expected to last into the evening, the tally of cancellations could grow throughout the day.

The majority of today’s O’Hare cancellations come on American and United and their regional partners. United and American each operate large hubs at Chicago O’Hare, where they are the airport’s No. 1 and No. 2 carriers, respectively.

The disruptions are a particular nuisance to American, which on Tuesday was forced to ground its entire fleet for several hours after computer problems prevented it from accessing its check-in and reservations systems.

American canceled more than 900 flights nationwide during the snafu and said it hoped  to resume normal operations Wednesday. But while its computer systems may have been back online, Mother Nature complicated American’s attempt to return to a normal schedule in Chicago.

American was forced to cancel nearly 450 additional flights Wednesday, with many of those coming at stormy O’Hare. American said about 100 of Wednesday’s cancellations were lingering problems from Tuesday’s outage but said Chicago weather accounted for most of the others.

All told, American and its American Eagle affiliate have now canceled more than 1,500 flights since Tuesday.

That’s 1,500 more reasons to charter a private aircraft for travel from JetOptions Private Jets. None of our private jets have been delayed or cancelled in the last week.

United Kingdom Starts Implementing Air Passenger Duty

Wednesday, April 3rd, 2013

At the beginning of March, the United Kingdom HM Revenue & Customs confirmed that Air Passenger Duty (APD) would be implemented on business aircraft passengers departing from United Kingdom Airports, where the Maximum Take Off Weight of the Aircraft is greater than 5.7 tons which applies to most business jets.  It increases further when the Aircraft’s Maximum Take Off Weight is greater than 20 tons.  Until this point, business jet aircraft passengers have been exempt from the Duty.

With effect from the 1st April, 2013 the following rates, per passenger, will be levied by the United Kingdom Government on all departing flights; for simplicity, the Government has introduced a banding system, based on the distance from London, regardless of departing Airport in the UK, to the capital city of the final destination country, again regardless of the destination itself.  Following are the Bands for reference:

Destination   Bands and Distance from London to Capital City of Country of Final   Destination (miles)

Reduced Rate

(Up To 20 Tons)

Higher Rate

(Over 20 Tons)

Band A (0-2000)

£52

$79USD

Band B (2001 – 4000)

£268

$405USD

Band C (4001 – 6000)

£83

$126USD

£332

$503USD

Band D (over 6001)

£94

$143USD

£376

$569USD

Examples of Aircraft Types

Learjet 45

Learjet 60XR

Hawker 800

Hawker 1000

Falcon 2000

Boeing BBJ

Bombardier Challenger 604

Bombardier Challenger 605

Bombardier Global   Express XRS

Embraer Legacy 650

Falcon 900

Gulfstream V

Examples:

1)      For a Learjet 45, carrying 6 passengers, from Farnborough to Paris (Band A) the Air Passenger Duty would be £13 x 6 = £78 (118 USD)

2)      For a Hawker 1000, carrying 4 passengers, from Farnborough to Sharm el Sheikh (Band B) the Air Passenger Duty would be £67 x 4 = £268 (406 USD)

3)      For a Challenger 604, carrying five passengers, from Farnborough to Sharjah (Band B) the Air Passenger Duty would be £268 x 5 = £1,340 (2,027 USD)

4)      For a Global XRS, carrying 2 passengers, from Farnborough to Bridgetown (Band C) the Air Passenger Duty would be £332 x 2 = £664 (1,005 USD)

The APD is applicable to all flights qualifying under the weight rule, regardless of whether they are private or commercial and is a Duty which cannot be reclaimed or exempted, regardless of the Nationality or State of Registry of the Aircraft.

Regrettably therefore, JetOptions started implementing this change from 1st April 2013 and any Duties levied will be recharged at cost through the normal accounting process.

More Reasons to Utilize a Private Jet

Saturday, February 16th, 2013

The chief thought that people have when it comes to flying in a private jet is that it’s mere luxury. But there are reasons that a private jet is also considered practical. Did you know that there are many benefits that come with jet travel? Chartering a private jet for business or buying one can now spell financial as well as time savings.

These days, major corporations are now reflecting on investing their money in a private jet or in private jet charter. There are other financial as well as non-monetary advantages in buying or chartering a corporate jet.

Travel in Comfort

Interiors are customized to maximize work areas and provide you with a “flying office space.”. Where there is customization, there is also comfort. Corporate executives will surely travel in elegance as the jet’s interiors are custom-made according to their preference.

Time Is Maximized

This may seem preposterous to some but when you look with a long-term perspective, a private jet can save the company lots of money. Non-productive time which is usually spent traveling can be converted into time that is used on private business meetings (talk of maximizing one’s schedule!).

Executives who often travel can attest that going through an airport can be pretty hectic. There is no need for them to wait for the luggage since the corporate jet carries all of their needs. Hours spent waiting at the baggage claim area can now be used for business.

Enjoy More Flexible Flight Schedules

Corporate jets are not restrictive. The person travelling has the freedom to set the flight schedule on any time that he/she deems necessary. Now, businesses can say goodbye to lost major contracts because of a missed connecting flight or lack of commercially scheduled flights in the middle of the night.

Get Rid of Unnecessary Hassles

Just think of the tiresome security measures, damaged cargoes and delayed flights – these are just some of the bothersome things that can happen during a commercial flight. Owning a corporate jet gives the company total control over their time as they also keep their executives’ stuff safe.

Compared to commercial airlines, private jets are not bound to certain routes, airfields and airports. Corporate jets can easily access a lot of airports all over the globe.

It’s Time to Fly Private

Corporations can find significant advantages in flying confidentially. They can work uninterrupted as they do not have to worry about other ears that are listening in on them. Chartering a private jet has plenty of benefits and you charter any size private jet to anywhere in the world with JetOptions Private Jets.

Corporate Angel Network Flies 42,000th Cancer Patient

Thursday, January 31st, 2013

Corporate Angel NetworkWhite Plains, NY — Corporate Angel Network, the organization that arranges free flights to treatment for cancer patients in the empty seats of corporate aircraft, has transported its 42,000th patient.  The first patient was flown in 1981.

The flight carried one year old cancer patient Alexander Hopper home to the Denver area after he received treatment for Retinoblastoma at Memorial Sloan Kettering in New York City.  Traveling with Alexander was his mother, Andrea Reitzel.

“Alexander is almost cured from Retinoblastoma” said his mother Andrea Reitzel.  “The best treatment for a cure was only available by plane.  Our burden is lighter because of CAN!”

The milestone flight was operated by Ball Corporation, a CAN participating company since 1985.  “At Ball, engaging in our communities is something we have done for over 130 years” said Barry Stidham, Director of Aviation and Chief Pilot.  It’s who we are.  We are proud to partner with Corporate Angel Network and the good work that they do and, while as a pilot I love every flight I make, the CAN flights, like today’s, are always the ones I remember most.”

Corporate Angel Network flights are provided by the 500 plus major corporations who participate in CAN’s program and typically involve long distance trips to and from major cancer treatment centers around the country.

A staff of six, with the help of 35 volunteers, works to match patient requests with the flight schedules of participating corporations.  The charity arranges about 250 patient flights each month and has received numerous awards in recognition of its service to cancer patients including The Volunteer Action Award, the highest volunteer award from the President of the United States.

JetOptions Private Jets is a member of Corporate Angel Network.
