Congress Passes 19th Extension of FAA’s Operating Authority

 With House Transportation Committee chairman John Mica (R-Fla.) publicly expressing skepticism about lawmakers’ resolve to pass long-term funding legislation for the FAA, Congress passed the 19th extension of the agency’s operating authority last week. The newest extension provides an additional 30 days–to June 30–to work out the differences between separate House and Senate versions of FAA reauthorization. Some had sought a longer extension.
